The adapter pattern is the core architecture of BaseFrame. Instead of framework-specific classes, we use semantic bf-* prefixed classes. Each CSS adapter maps these to the framework's visual language. Switching from Bulma to Pico is just one dropdown change.

We evaluated over 30 frameworks based on file size, community activity, documentation quality, and visual distinctiveness. Our goal was diversity: full frameworks (Bulma, UIkit, Foundation), classless options (Pico, Sakura, MVP), micro frameworks (Chota at 3KB), and novelty picks (NES.css for 8-bit aesthetics).
